Alfange Árabe

 Varias son las formas que se dieron en épocas pasadas a estos alfanges, de los cuales hubo abundante producción toledana durante la invasión árabe. Una muestra de estos alfanges morunos se encuentra en el Museo del Ejército en Madrid. Sus características principales, la guarda que se eleva hacia el puño de un lado cayendo del otro hacia la hoja, y el ensanchamiento y curvatura de su hoja, se mantiene en este estilizado alfange moruno, recordando que Toledo, también durante su época árabe, fue centro importantísimo de la espadería.

Arabian Cutlass

 There were given various shapes to these cutlass in past times and there was an important Toledan production of them during the Arabic invasion. A sample of these cutlass can be found in the Army Museum in Madrid. Its main characteristics are the crossward which raises to the handle on one side and descends to the blade on the other side, and its wide and curved blade. This stylized cutlass shows all these caracteristics, remenbering that Toledo was an important center of swords producyion also during its Arabian period.
